Honestly, I don’t think I ever would have considered putting beer and cookies together if left to my own devices. Which just goes to show that I really don’t know what’s good for me. Fortunately, Los Angeles is full of geniuses who go out of their way to make my life better.

In this case, the geniuses are Firestone Walker Brewing Company and Brown Butter Cookies. Firestone Walker has released a new version of its Velvet Merlin Oatmeal Stout, which they’ve brewed with lactose and put on nitro tap. It’s called Nitro Merlin Milk Stout, and it’s fantastic. As part of its unveiling, they’re touring about and serving the new brew with the salty, buttery goodness of Brown Butter Cookies.
