If you've had a Manhattan, you've had vermouth. But there's a lot more to it than that.

Do you want to know how much vermouth I've had in Mexico? Answer: absolutely none.

But then, how much vermouth does anyone drink in the USA these days? Well, maybe not much, but you've probably had more than you realize. It's such an important ingredient in so many standard cocktails, and honestly, for a few extra bucks, you can find some pretty awesome bottles that need no mixing whatsoever. Just pour and sip.

I cover this, along with many other facts and histories about vermouth, in a new article just published on VinePair. If you're not familiar with VinePair, now's your chance to get acquainted. It's a sharp little blog setting out to demystify wine, to bring drink-speak to the masses, and to blog in millennial style and language about all the delicious and boozy beverages you should know about.

I actually wrote the article right here in Chapala. Check it out.

Cheers!
